About

Hello, and welcome to Inspired Mornings

We’re a small team based in Seattle, Washington, where gray, drizzly mornings taught us something important: you don’t need perfect weather or a perfect life to have a good start to your day. You need a little intention, a little kindness toward yourself, and habits that actually fit your real life.

Inspired Mornings is our home on the internet for practical, honest, and research-informed writing about wellness, stress management, relationships, and building a morning routine you’ll genuinely look forward to.

Why We Started Inspired Mornings

It began in early 2024 with a shared group chat. Maya, our founder, was burned out from a demanding job and scrolling her phone in bed every morning before feeling behind on the day. She started experimenting with slow mornings: a glass of water, ten minutes of stretching, journaling, and sunlight before screens. Friends noticed the change and started asking for her routine.

The problem? Almost everything she found online was either extreme (“wake up at 4 a.m. and change your life!”) or wrapped in miracle claims that sounded too good to be true. We wanted something different: calm, realistic guidance that respects your intelligence and your health. So we started writing it ourselves.

Meet the Team

Maya Lindqvist, Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Maya spent nearly a decade in corporate communications before stepping away to focus on wellbeing and writing. She’s a lifelong morning-routine tinkerer, a devoted tea drinker, and a firm believer that small habits beat dramatic overhauls. Maya oversees our editorial direction and writes about routines, productivity, and goal setting.

Daniel Okafor, Research Editor

Daniel has a background in research and science writing and loves digging into studies so you don’t have to. He leads our fact-checking, reviews the sources behind every health-related article, and keeps us honest about what the evidence does and doesn’t say. He writes about sleep, stress, and mindfulness.

Priya Nair, Wellness & Relationships Writer

Priya writes about emotional wellbeing, communication, and relationships, drawing on personal experience, interviews, and published research. She has attended couples counseling herself and is passionate about making conversations around therapy less intimidating. Priya also covers traditional wellness practices such as acupuncture from the perspective of a curious patient and researcher.

A note on our credentials: We are writers, researchers, and lifelong students of wellness. We are not physicians, licensed therapists, or licensed acupuncturists, and we never present ourselves as such. Our value is in careful research, real-life experience, and clear writing, and we always encourage you to consult qualified professionals for personal medical or mental health decisions. See our Disclaimer.

How We Create Our Content

Because wellness topics can affect your health, we hold ourselves to a clear editorial process:

  1. Topic selection. We choose topics based on reader questions, common struggles, and gaps we find in existing advice.
  2. Research from trusted sources. We rely on peer-reviewed studies, major health organizations (such as the CDC, NIH, WHO, and the American Psychological Association), academic institutions, and interviews with licensed professionals when possible. We avoid relying on unsourced claims, social media trends, or brand marketing.
  3. Writing with honesty. We explain what research suggests, what is still uncertain, and where personal experience comes in. We do not promise cures or guaranteed results.
  4. Fact-check and review. Daniel reviews the sources and claims in every health-related article before it goes live.
  5. Regular updates. We revisit older articles to keep information current and add a “last updated” date whenever we make significant changes.
  6. Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and transparently. Please tell us at contact@inspiredmornings.us.

Our Values

  • Honesty first. No hype, no miracle claims.
  • Kindness over perfection. A “good enough” morning is a win.
  • Respect for professionals. We point you toward doctors and therapists, never away from them.
  • Transparency. We tell you how we make money and how we make our content.
